Die Abdeckung der überwachten Kraftwerksleistung liegt bei allen Anlagen über 100 MW bei über 50 %.

Wird die Anzahl der Messstationen in Deutschland erhöht werden?
Ja, in Absprache mit den Abonnenten werden kontinuierlich weitere Messstationen errichtet werden.
Wird die geographische Ausdehnung des Stationsnetzes erweitert werden?
Ja, wir bereiten die Expansion unseres Systems in weitere europäische Märkte vor.
Ist das legal?
Ja! Die Messsysteme stehen grundsätzlich auf Privatgrund und greifen in keiner Weise in den
Betrieb des jeweiligen Kraftwerks ein. Es werden physikalische Werte erhoben, durch die
auf die Erzeugung von Kraftwerken zurückgerechnet werden kann.

Welchen Einfluss hat die Erzeugung eines einzelnen Kraftwerkes auf den Großhandelspreis?
Presseberichten zufolge erhöhte sich der Spotmarktpreis selbst in ruhigen Marktphasen
durch Kraftwerksausfälle um 10 €/MWh; in angespannten Marktsituationen, wie zum Beispiel
im Sommer 2003 oder im 1. Quartal 2005, war der Preiseffekt von Kraftwerksausfällen um ein Vielfaches höher.

Without being physically connected to the power grid, powermonitor.org is able to calculate
the electricity production of a power plant by measuring the magnetic field of the grid running
from the power plant. Our service gives you access to power plant output data in different formats.
What percentage of the overall installed capacity in Germany will powermonitor.org cover?
Taking all power plants with an installed capacity of over 100 MW into account,
more than 50% are monitored by us. Regarding the large power plants with more than 500 MW,
more than 70% of the installed capacity is monitored.
Will the number of measuring stations in Germany increase?
Yes, after consultation with our subscribers we will continue installing further measuring stations.
Will the powermonitor.org system also cover other European countries?
Yes, we are planning to install further measuring stations in other European countries.
Is the monitoring legal?
Yes, because our measuring stations are installed on private property and do not interfere
with the operation of the power plants. By detecting physical values we are able to calculate
the electricity production of the specific power plant.

institutions that support non-discriminatory competition on the power market.

How do power plant outages affect the price on the wholesale market?
Prices in the spot market may easily increase by EUR 10/MWh after an outage at a power plant,
even under quiet market conditions, according to press reports. In a nervous market,
such as witnessed in the summer of 2003 or the first quarter of 2005, the increase can be considerably higher.
